Kasab verdict a clear message to Pak-based terror outfits: Antony

Soon after the death sentence of Kasab our defence minister AK Antony said, "It has been proved by this judgment that under the present law itself, if there is a will, we can take stern action...We can send a proper message to all those criminals and terrorists,''

Its really surprising to see such a message from the Defense Minister,... I don't understand What is the message going out to the people who are mentally prepared and have decided to die for their so called cause. Dying by gunshot or getting hanged after months of court trail and days in Jail makes no difference to them.

The minister says we can take stern action? what is the stern action sir?? he is stating that "We can take stern action...." I don't get what is that stern action? Do you think getting a death sentence from court after 17 months is a stern action?

On the other side Home minister Chidambaram is proud of the system since Kasab was convicted in a normal court of law.

Was listening to FM 106.4 Gyan Vani in radio today. I was stunned to know the following facts.

1. Out of the the total available water on earth, only 1% is pure and we are using.
2. We are using ground water (Wells and bore wells) 10 times more than the actual amount which it should be used.
3. After Rajastan, Karnataka is the second state which has highest amount of dry land in India. There is too much of scarcity for water in Most of the parts of Karnataka (esp. Northern parts.) People pay Rs.10 for one can of water.
4. We will be running out of river water as well as ground water from wells and bore wells in few years.
5. No company in India sells Mineral water. They are just selling Drinking water. It cannot be termed Mineral water. If any company is selling water under the name of Mineral water, it is a crime. And they mentioned that actual Mineral water will cost Rs.40 per liter.
6. According to Indian constitution drinking its a fundamental right to have drinking water. It is the duty of every government to provide drinking water. http://www.righttowater.info/pdfs/india_cs.pdf So selling of bottled drinking water should be banned. Water is the essence of life. Hence, any denial of water implies a denial of right to life. The right to water is not enshrined in the Indian Constitution as an explicit Fundamental Right but the Indian Judiciary, both at the state as well as at the center, has in several judgments interpreted Article 21 of the Constitution to include a right to clean and sufficient water, a right to a decent life, a right to live with dignity, and a right to a humane and healthy environment which would certainly imply a right to water.

It's been 18 years since I joined Volvo, a Swedish company. Working for them has proven to be an interesting experience. Any project here takes 2 years to be finalized, even if the idea is simple and brilliant. It's a rule.

Globalize processes have caused in us (all over the world) a general sense of searching for immediate results. Therefore, we have come to possess a need to see immediate results. This contrasts greatly with the slow movements of the Swedish. They, on the other hand, debate, debate, debate, hold x quantity of meetings and work with a slowdown scheme. At the end, this always yields better results.

Said in another words:
1. Sweden is about the size of San Pablo, a state in Brazil.
2. Sweden has 2 million inhabitants.
3. Stockholm has 500,000 people.
4. Volvo, Escania, Ericsson, Electrolux, Nokia are some of its renowned companies. Volvo supplies the NASA.

The first time I was in Sweden, one of my colleagues picked me up at the hotel every morning. It was September, bit cold and snowy. We would arrive early at the company and he would park far away from the entrance (2000 employees drive their car to work). The first day, I didn't say anything, either the second or third. One morning I asked, "Do you have a fixed parking space? I've noticed we park far from the entrance even when there are no other cars in the lot." To which he replied, "Since we're here early we'll have time to walk, and whoever gets in late will be late and need a place closer to the door. Don't you think so?" Imagine my face.

Nowadays, there's a movement in Europe named Slow Food. This movement establishes that people should eat and drink slowly, with enough time to taste their food, spend time with the family, friends, without rushing. Slow Food is against its counterpart: the spirit of Fast Food and what it stands for as a lifestyle. Slow Food is the basis for a bigger movement called Slow Europe, as mentioned by Business Week. Basically, the movement questions the sense of "hurry" and "craziness" generated by globalization, fuelled by the desire of "having in quantity" (life status) versus "having with quality", "life quality" or the quality of being".

French people, even though they work only 35 hours per week, are more productive than Americans or British. Germans have established 29 hour workweeks and have seen their productivity been driven up by 20%. This slow attitude has brought forth the US's attention, pupils of the fast and the "do it now!". This no-rush attitude doesn't represent doing less or having a lower productivity. It means working and doing things with greater quality, perfection, with more attention to detail and less stress. It means reducing rejects and wastage. It means re-establishing family values, friends, free and leisure time. Taking the "now", present and concrete, versus the "global", undefined and anonymous future. It means taking humans' essential values, the simplicity of living. It stands for a less coercive work environment, more happy, lighter and more productive where humans enjoy doing what they know best how to do.

It's time to stop and think on how companies need to develop serious quality with no-rush that will increase productivity and the quality of products and services, without losing the essence of spirit.

In the movie, Scent of a Woman, there's a scene where Al Pacino asks a girl to dance and she replies, "I can't, my boyfriend will be here any minute now". To which Al responds, "A life is lived in an instant". Then they dance to a tango.

Many of us live our lives running behind time, but we only reach it when we die of a heart attack or in a car accident rushing to be on time. Others are so anxious of living the future that they forget to live the present, which is the only time that truly exists. We all have equal time throughout the world. No one has more or less. The difference lies in how each one of us does with our time. We need to live each moment.

As John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".

Congratulations for reading till the end of this message. There are many who will have stopped in the middle so as not to waste time in this globalized world.

Some of our politicians have been tirelessly busy to do something new to get publicity. Rahul Gandhi was recently found doing one of that stuff. What makes these people think that we are still illiterates?
These tactics worked will for his ancestors because literacy rate in our country was very less. No we are proud to say that our literacy rate has come up to 75.85% male and 54.16% female from 27.16% male and 8.86% female at 1951.

This is an interesting article by Yogesh Chhabria. I got it by email from a good friend of mine. There is nothing mine in this, its just a copy-paste of the email.

Dear all.

LATELY, I have been thinking a lot about the Lehman crisis . Spending money
that they didn't have and going beyond their means is one of the main
reasons for their situation today. In fact that is the cause for the
current economic crisis in the US.

When I see all this happening, I can only remember the good old days. Then,
karz was bad. People looked down upon those who took loans. Parents would
not give their daughter's hand in marriage to a man with loans.

But of course, the times have changed now. Everyone I know has a loan. The
buzz word is EMI (equated monthly installment). Today, you can buy
everything on EMI - a house, a television, even an i-Pod. In fact I know of
someone who just bought a fancy BMW 3 series on EMI, instead of buying a
cheaper car outright with cash. I mostly prefer to take public transport,
but then I am an old man with old thoughts!

Anyway, coming back to what caused the crisis. Imagine having Rs 2 lakh in
your bank account, no regular income, yet buying a house worth Rs 65 lakh,
in the hope of selling it for a higher price. Even if the price of the
house fell by just 5 per cent (that is Rs 3 lakh), you will go bankrupt.
This is what Lehman Brothers did; with around USD 20 billion they went and
bought assets worth over USD 600 billion. Isn't it suicidal and simply
foolish?

I am sure things would have been different, had I been the head of Lehman
brothers. But who wants an old conservative man like me to head a complex
financial institution.

But there are a few lessons that we can learn:

1.Live a balanced life and avoid overspending.

2.Don't buy things we don't need.

3.Don't buy Branded goods.

4.Don't buy excess Food, Cloths, Cosmetics, Footwear, electronics and
Fashion accuracies
just think before you buy.
Tip: World still has a lot of growth ahead and the future holds immense
opportunities for us. Let us make the most of it and save and invest it
wisely instead of wasting our precious little on things we don't need.

5.Try to balance life with work (No one is happy to work in their
professions).

6. Don't stress out your self, after work try to do some extra activities
like swimming,
yoga, walking, running where you can divert your mind from stress.
A thumb rule: Health is more important than money.

7.Try to understand each other (Wife and Husband) in financial matters and
help each
other.

Tip: As soon as you get your monthly salary, set aside a fixed amount,
usually 35 per cent, for insurance, savings and investments. You can then
spend the rest.

8. Not all loans are bad. Loans that are 'need based' (home loans,
education loans) can always find a place in your finances against those
that are largely 'want based' (Credit cards, personal loans, car loans).

9. Borrow only if repayment is financially comfortable.
A thumb rule: Keep EMIs within 35 to 45 per cent of your monthly income

In that respect, there is one American who I really respect - Warren
Buffet. He has lived in the same ordinary house for over three decades,
drives his own medium sized car and leads an extremely regular 'middle
class' life. If that's all it takes for the richest person on earth to be
happy, why do all of us need to take extra stress just so that we can get
things which aren't even essential

4. Where u can make a point even if ur voice is low.
